Thanksgiving Eve with Columbia Church
November 27, 2024
5 pm Community Dinner
6 pm Gratitude Service
This year, GBC Lancaster is partnering with Columbia Church for Thanksgiving Eve.
We will be joining our efforts for a Thanksgiving dinner followed by a time of worship at 6pm and expressing our gratitude to God. Volunteers are needed to help serve a community Thanksgiving meal, which is a great blessing to local individuals and families.
Current opportunities
-

As an adopting church, we have the privilege and responsibility of walking alongside residents of The Way Recovery Houses. Additional men and women are needed to participate by providing spiritual discipleship. These relationships are often critical for individuals seeking long-term freedom from addiction. Current mentors and others who are interested are all invited to monthly meetings for support, training, and prayer (held on the fourth Thursday of each month).
Next meeting date: Thursday, November 21

- Verse Listeners/other volunteers needed on Wednesday nights
Our Awana clubs for children have grown again this year, with Cubbies (preschool) and Sparks (grades K-2) both at full capacity. T&T (grades 3-6) numbers have never been higher, yet we have enough small group leaders to take more. Please pray that God would continue to bring us people with a heart for discipling children. If you would like to help in this ministry, but cannot serve every week or full evening, we could still use your help:
First, please pray - we need the fruit of the Spirit as we relate to these younger brothers and sisters in the faith and as we witness to those who are not yet in God’s family.
Second, we need listeners and people to help children learn their verses with our Sparks (7:30 - 7:50 pm) and T&T (6:45 - 7:15 pm).
Third, we are also looking for help in gym time. This is a highlight of the night for many of our students and a reason they bring their friends.
Please contact the church office or Pastor Mike Cortez (mcortez@gbclancaster.org) if you are interested in serving in any of these ways.
-
If you prefer to use physical envelopes for your giving and would like to receive a statement at the end of the year, please request set of offering envelopes.
