Current opportunities

As an adopting church, we have the privilege and responsibility of walking alongside residents of The Way Recovery Houses. Additional men and women are needed to participate by providing spiritual discipleship. These relationships are often critical for individuals seeking long-term freedom from addiction. Current mentors and others who are interested are all invited to monthly meetings for support, training, and prayer (held on the fourth Thursday of each month).

Each month, these funds are distributed to meet needs among our church family and surrounding community. If you would like to contribute, monies may be designated for the Fellowship Fund.

Our Pantry is open on the second Sunday of each month, offering food, household supplies, and personal hygiene items to anyone in need.
Current items most needed are:
Boxed Mac & Cheese
Shelf-stable fruit
Shampoo
Body Wash
Deodorant

James Project is a short-term service trip that we take to Arrowhead Bible Camp to assist them with their Shepherd’s Camp. Shepherds Camp is a ministry to adults with different abilities that allows them to have a Christian Camp experience that they may not otherwise be able to have.

Donations of clean, gently-used clothing will be received April 14-28. Please place your items on the Gym stage area.
Volunteers are also needed to help with setup and sorting, April 28-May 2, while the Giveaway is open on May 2 & 3, and for tear-down on Friday evening, May 3rd. Sign up HERE if you can help.

GBC has been blessed with a flourishing children’s ministry, and we have a need for your help. Having more kids requires more people to help in classrooms. If this is something you feel God has blessed you with the ability to do or even if you would like to just observe and see if it’s something you would like to do please contact Pastor Mike Cortez at mcortez@gbclancaster.org ASAP and he would love to chat with you.

Dave passed away on Thursday, May 2. Please keep Patty and their whole family in prayer through their time of grief. All are invited to a casual Celebration of Life gathering on Wednesday, May 8, 5:00-7:00 pm in our Fellowship Hall.

We praise God for a great weekend of service by our team (April 26-28). Your continued prayers are appreciated for the Arrowhead staff as they prepare for the summer Shepherds Camp* season, which begins May 26th.
*Shepherds Camp serves adults with developmental disabilities, offering a Bible-based program and fully-interactive camp experience designed especially for them.
